In a great tidal wave of destruction these guests will spread ahead of the Old World men, and as they pass so will millions of the people. In the North the powerful Mandan will cease to exist. The advanced Tarascan civilization of Michoacan, almost always the victor in battles with the Nahua peoples now, will be cut down by four-fifths, and, by the time the Old World men arrive, the eldest member of the ruling family to survive will be a fourteen year-old boy.
