In your time, traveler, your writers will point to us smugly as "foolish savages." How unnecessary, they will say. How cruel. To cut the hearts out of small children to ensure the rainfall. Look at Mexico today, they will say. No longer are small children slaughtered on the altar, and yet the rains still come.
These are different worlds, traveler. Your writers may use the terms "New World" and "Old World" and yet not appreciate how truly different those worlds really were.
Some years from now, men and women from your world will come here, to ours. A civilization from your world will appear here, and our old cultures will disappear. The men from the "Old World" will be called "Conquistadors" and we shall be said to have been "conquered."
