To
play this game you will need the registered DOS version of Doom2 (version
1.9). Unzip the file "SUCCUBI.ZIP" into the same directory that contains
your Doom2 game. Then from a DOS screen, while in that directory,
type
"install" followed by the complete pathname to your Doom2 game.
EG: install c:\Doom2
From then on, to play the Succubi game, just type "succubi". (Windows95 users can create a shortcut to the batch file "Succubi.bat" and simply double click on it to start the game.) You must use the Succubi.bat batch file to run the game. This is not optional! If you do not, the executable changes will not be used and the game will not play properly. You will miss half the fun, trust me on this. Note that there is a crash bug that will occur if you leave the game sitting on the title screen.
Note that the Windows95 version 'Doom95' will not work for this Wad. The executable patch (succubi.deh) will not work with Doom95 and without that patch, my game will not run correctly. Succubi required major hacking of the executable (esp. the frame table) and editors are not available that render the hacking of Doom95 (which is a different program) practical. On the CD that Doom95 comes on, ID put the DOS versions of Doom2 (version 1.9) as well (in the Doom2 directory). I strongly advise you to load the DOS version for the purpose of playing my Succubi wad. On the CD in the Doom2 directory is an install program for the DOS version. Run that install and put the game in a new directory, other than that in which you put Doom95. Unzip the Succubi.zip file into that new directory and run the install batch file that comes in my zip file. From then on, to play the game, either type "succubi" from the DOS prompt while in the Doom2 directory or make a shortcut to the batch file "Succubi.bat" and double click that to play.
You may Email the ZIP file "SUCCUBI.ZIP" to adult friends provided all the files are kept together and unmodified. You may NOT post this to any newsgroup or put it onto any FTP site, nore may you distribute it in any way that may allow it to fall into the hands of minors.
If you see non-naked non-lady monsters or if anything throws a fireball at you when you play Succubi, then I must reiterate.

The real treat however is that there are a good number of brand new sprites! This is the only Doom Wad I know of that actually has naked lady monsters! These sprites are made of hundreds of individually drawn frames of animation (of near professional quality). Of course numerous new sounds were incorporated so as to fit the sprites. | Known Bugs | A visiplane error behind one of the police barricades. If you don't break any of the barriers, you should not encounter this bug (you can go around). The game will crash on bootup if you let it sit on the title screen. Don't let it sit on the title screen. As soon as you see it, hit enter. There are no known bugs that crash the game after you are into the game more than a minute or so. If you don't use Doom2 (version 1.9), Succubi will not function! |
If you wish to create levels using these sprites, contact me. I am very interested in adding additional levels to this one, but I don't want separate levels in circulation that use these sprites outside of this wad. The nature of these sprites is extremely pornographic and politically questionable. It is essential that the distribution of these sprites be tightly controlled so as to prevent them from falling into the hands of the easily offended and the politically correct.
You may NOT distribute this wad in any way other than to Email it to an adult friend. Specifically, you may NOT post this wad or put it on an FTP site or a Web page. Please make every effort to keep this wad out of the hands of minors.
If you see non-naked non-lady monsters or if anything throws a fireball at you when you play Succubi, then the Succubi.deh patch is not being loaded properly. Without the Succubi.deh executable patch being loaded, in addition to meeting tough monsters who should be naked ladies, you are seeing (for instance) only 7 out 42 frames in a death sequence. I strongly recommend getting that patch to work. You are missing half the game.
Are you using the Succubi.bat batch file to start the game? If you just do the standard "doom2 -load succubi.wad" the game will not work properly. To play, just type "succubi". Use the Succubi.bat batch file! Do not consider this to be optional.
If you are using the Succubi.bat batch file to start the game but are still encountering this problem, then either the install.bat batch file didn't work properly or you didn't run it at all (more probably). If you didn't run the install.bat batch file that came in the Succubi.zip file, then you should do so. From a DOS prompt, make sure you are in the directory with your Doom2 game and all the contents of the unzipped Succubi.zip file. Then type "install" followed by the complete pathname of the directory you are in, eg: install c:\doom2 . Do not put a backslash at the end!
If you did run the install.bat batch file that came in the Succubi.zip file and you are using the Succubi.bat batch file to start the game and you still see non-lady monsters that shoot fireballs, then I would recommend trying the install again, but first deleting a file called Dehacked.ini. It is very important that this Dehacked.ini file be properly configured, which the install program should take care of.
If all else fails, and you have room on your hard disk, you might want to try reinstalling your Doom2 (remember, not Doom95) game to a fresh directory, unzipping the Succubi.zip file in that fresh directory, then from a DOS prompt, run install.bat. It will prompt you for the proper syntax (install <complete pathname to this Doom2 directory>).
