Several weeks ago our Meg, or MEGATON as she was known, died in an accident. The last story of hers I read ended with the line, "Always and Forever". This phrase has meaning to many, including this writer, and we will remember Meg Always and Forever.

"The Lovebirds of Moyadushka cry, K'Hai Tae Ant Onai."
I stood atop the pyramid oblivious to the surroundings, the thousands of gleaming golden bodies, their skin glistening in the sunshine, the heads of our vanquished enemies in a circuit around the golden pyramid, Khorgan, Martian, Centauri. The three planets of the Tripartite represented by the rotting cephaletic images on stakes, as if guarding the great dais.
I had eyes only for the golden-red hair climbing the steps, effortlessly, her tiny breasts quivering with each step, her unblemished and milk complexion washed of blood and battle. She ascended and stood before me, my mind in a daze. The hazel eyes stared into mine, sure and deep. The Amazons had the unique ability to change their hair and eye color depending on mood and situation, this is how she would look to the grave, though. Her choice was my choice.
The priestess handed me a golden hilt for a knife, and I handed her the blade of my war dagger, cut from the handle, and handed it to my Queen. She handed the blade of her dirk to the priestess, who reached it to me. Together we balanced the hilt between our hands and fitted the blades to the hilt, where they clanked together as if grabbed by a magnet. We now had a weapon with two blades facing outward and the golden hilt in the middle.
She placed my tip to my bare chest and I did the same to her, and before she could step up the golden stool that would put us face to face, with a lock of her eyes to mine she contemptously kicked it away and placed my hands under her armpits. With a nod from the priestess we spoke in unison, her eyes still locked to mine,
"If I should love another, or stop loving you one second from the End of Eternity, may this blade come real in my heart and slay me."
I picked her up to face me, he arms locked tight behind my neck, and with a smile from her, and a sharp jerk, she pulled herself to me and I pulled her to my chest.
She raised her head, her eyes still set on mine as the blood started from her mouth in a gout and as they slowly closed she lowered her head to my chest with a long gasp, the pain nothing like I have ever felt, her blood warm against my chest, and my limbs started to go numb, the last memory I had was the smell of her hair and the tip of the dagger sticking out of her back.
How long we stood there I did not know, a second or Eternity, but her sweat streaming cold down my legs woke me, and I set her to the ground.
The hilt fell from between us to the stone floor with a clank.
She put her chest back and I touched the place where I had put the tip of the dagger, her back was clear and her chest was smooth. She felt for where she had placed her blade and smacked me on the chest with a grin. I took her cheeks in my hands and said, "I love you more than anything there is."
In the language of Moyadushka I cried "K'Hai Tae Ant Onai!"
In the language of the Trpartite she screamed, " Always And Forever!"
The roar of the assembled warriors shook the pyramid, but I neither heard nor saw them, all I saw was her eyes and face and all I heard was the song of her laughter, and I held her to me as if never to let her go.
