A Tale Of Legends by Scalloped2
A small ad caught her eye.The laid-off writer was searching
for some work. The item read, "Large sums paid for juicy legends."
"Well," she thought,"That's just up my alley!"
She jotted down the address and hurried to the scene.
Work was so hard to come by. This was exactly what she'd
need.
"Such a strange location for literary writings."
Some archaic markings were etched upon the door.
In anxious hesitation she paused before a rusty iron gate
leading to the door of the backstreet shop.
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this? Oh, well, Here
goes nothing!" as she rapped upon the door.
A squat plump little man, just about half her height,
smiled at his guest most cheery. He shook his head in pure
delight. He was in 7th heaven!
"I'm answering your ad, kind sir." she said. "I'm ready and
I'm willing!
"Come right this way, my lovely waif."
He led me to the rear of the shop and down some narrow
creaking stairs.
"He's weird, but harmless, I'm sure!" she thought as she
followed close behind. She almost jumped when the cellar door
slammed so hard behind.
"Hop up on the table, dear. While I go get my ax!
"Wait a minute! I came here to write legends." she cried.
"No! Indeed my dear you came here to sell your ...
Leg Ends! You did answer the ad!
Not a single soul heard her mournful cries as they ambly strove
on by.
