BARBANNE’S GHOST

BARBANNE’S GHOST

We gathered here from Search to speak,
Of What we found this day.
When Barbanne’s returned to us
Her mind still stole away.

We asked of her what was amiss,
Why she was far away,
She answered Truth was Ghost had stole
Her muse, her mind, that day.

So Search began for Ghost that day
To find It and return,
To Barbanne what she had lost,
‘Twas not Ghost’s for to learn.

Lou-San was first who Searched the woods
And glens she knew so well,
For trace of ghostly feet, she spied
Both dipped in Barb’s own soul.

From Barb’s own grave where Vicki’s kiss
Did waken her once more,
Lou-San did find that scent Ghost wore
And Searched now for that spoor.

She traced the spoor to JB’s place
Where she walked sight unseen,
And thence to John’s where ‘gain she found
That Ghost had last been seen.

And strangled just a bit had she
That scared Ghost again
Those Necromen scared her a lot,
She sought a different plane.

But Lisa Pixie found her there;
And made Ghost run away,
When Lou-San found the Necropix,
They both laughed ‘bout Ghost that day.

Toupia flying o’re the skies,
While looking near and far,
Received a thought from Lou-San by which,
He knew that Ghostly fear.

So both mind-poke to Lor-T-An,
Who with that message knew,
How Ghost who capture could be done,
And return to Barb her due.

To Plane of Greek and Roman lore,
Within Betea’s core.
He traveled time and space to find
The answer to Ghost’s lure.

First he spoke to Calliope
Of Barbanne’s epic work
In Far Horizon’s incomplete
He knew his answer lurked.

Spoke he then with Clio friend,
Who aided in the spark
With both muses working for her good
Barbanne’s work would mark

A sharp contrast to her short work,
To match John’s Posse tale.
And now she would in truth complete,
Her Far Horizon trail.

Then next he spoke with Melpomene
Who gave of tragedy,
To Barbanne’s tale the ending for
All who were loved by thee.

To other muses he did speak
Though they did not provide
Much more to aid him in his quest
In this they had not lied.

Yet Thelia, muse of comedy
And pastoral poems so dear,
Reminded him that Graces, too,
Might have a clue to bare.

She, of course, was also Bloom
And she talked with the rest
Euphosyne gave such sad joy
But she was not the best.

Fair Aglaia though she was the last
That he did see that day,
(Though Urania he kissed last)
On that Greek Plane far away.

Betea bore him one more time
Through space and time they sped.
And twext them both they two did set
A trap for Ghost. Deathbed!

So on this day we captured Ghost
Now we present her to
Our wondrous Barb, our perfect Bard
Who now can write anew.

Stories of love, and death, and more,
Of bow, and blade, and gun,
Of strangler’s grip, yet love we all.
Please write.
For now this poem’s done
