I am Life
When torn from the safety of the womb
As live you must in light of day,
I hear your cry of anguish
I hear you beg for constancy,
Which ne’r can be yours,
For I am Life.
When things happen that you must bear,
Whether joy or sad or when you pray,
I hear your cries and laughter
I hear you beg for God’s forgiveness
Which n’er I can grant
For I am Life.
These things must come what e’re I say
For as you live from day to day
Filling life; fulfilling Life
I walk with you though sight unseen
Which e’er I would grant
For I am Life.
And when finally this Day is done
And tired and lonely, night and day
You toil endlessly without succor
Without ones who care
So that Death is longed for evermore,
I will stand with you until
Death takes your hand to give you peace,
Always helpful, always there
For I am Life.
